The individual impact is much more predominately black though everyone underpants their grappling black and wears wigs disregarding if you are albescent or black or other. As far as a turn move though apiece krewe has members join, country dues and take their throws. So for whatever grouping disregarding of contend its an outlay cater of who crapper provide to brute and take every the throws. Racial questions are always very tricky because one doesn’t want to answer for fear of sounding racist.
Maybe it’s a reflection of the socio-economic status of blacks. It’s fairly expensive to become a member of a krewe and then to buy the “throws” every year.
By law in New Orleans, all krewes must accept anyone regardless of race.
The one “black” krewe, Zulu, has always had some white members.
ha ..I’ve never noticed ..
but they usually do separate themselves from us eh ?
and how would u know if someone is mixed ? especially in costume ..
ur weird
riding is expensive, and i may point out that alot of krewes, the riders aren’t even from new orleans. and while zulu is the black krewe of mardi gras, they have white members, even asian and latino members as well. and most other krewes do too. i should also point out, that its almost always hard to tell what someone race is on the float because they are usually masked and costume
some people are just not rich enough to get a float….and some people dont celebrate mardi gras
You will see blacks on a very special float that is a krew just for them. They are very proud of there own krew and it is a highlight of all the parades.
