Wouldn’t that be neat? Like immorality versa of the grouping on the floats throwing progress @ us.

Sorry, and I know it sounds like fun, but throwing ANYTHING at the float riders is illegal. Realize the flost riders are all in costume with masks and can’t see out very well. Float riders have been injured in the past by things thrown by the crowd, and throwing something at them is a really good way to get arrested.
Many visitors to New Orleans arrive thinking it is a city with no rules. The misperception is reinforced by facts such as that one can legally consume an alcoholic beverage on the street when that is a crime in almost all of the rest of America. Hollywood films have also done their part to portray New Orleans as a place where anything goes, particularly during Carnival (Mardi Gras).
The rules are simply different in New Orleans. Looser, yes – but still there.
Neat in the mind’s eye? Yes. Pratical: no.
Mardi Gras is what it is: try bringing it to New York.
last year…. i was on a balcony on Bourbon .. Yelling down to people that i didn’t have any beads.. and if they would throw me theirs..
my friend and i made a bet to see who could get the most beads..

Or like if you threw beads at all the girls that put their tops back on? Or maybe everyone could be stone cold sober and mope around all during Mardi Gras? That would be cool, so very, how you call it “vice versa.” One problem. It wouldn’t be a little thing we here like to call ….. “Mardi Gras!” Thanks for thinking about how to make da Mardi Gras better!! Laissez fair les bon temps rouler!
As already mentioned…It would be a neat way to go to jail. You would be arrested on assault charges. It is NOT permitted to throw ANYTHING at the riders, band members, or anyone else at a parade, unless you are a rider.
